Preparation

  1. Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  2. Beat butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Then add the eggs and beat until combined. Add the vanilla and red food coloring and beat until combined again.
  4. Add the sifted flour and mix until combined. Then use a spoon to scoop up about 1 tablespoon of cookies and shape them into balls. Coat them with icing sugar.
  5. Place the icing-coated cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking sheet, about 1 inch apart.
  6. Bake at 160°C for about 10-12 minutes. Let cool for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before storing in a container.
