Preparation

  1. Wash Japanese rice until the water becomes clear. You should gently scrub it with your hands to make the rice grains white and beautiful.
  2. After washing, soak the rice in clean water for 30 minutes. Soaking the rice will help the rice cook evenly and not have lumps.
  3. When the rice has soaked for the specified time, multiply the amount of rice by 1.2 to find the amount of water to use for cooking.
